1. Integration of Instagram Reels

Since short video maker apps started to gain popularity across the world, there has been an increase in these apps. Facebook also launched Instagram Reels which is inspired by the same concept. Now it is reported that Facebook is planning to integrate Instagram coils into WhatsApp.

2. WhatsApp pictures disappearance function

You can already send disappearing messages in WhatsApp which only included text messages from now on. Thus, the messaging platform now plans to also offer the possibility of sending endangered media. With this feature, you will be able to send the self-destructive photos and videos to WhatsApp.

WaBetaInfo reports that the feature is being tested for Android and iOS platforms and will be rolled out to all users soon. According to reports, you will not be able to save endangered media content on your phone or forward those photos to others.

3. Support for multiple devices

As of now, there is no way to use the same WhatsApp number on two or more devices at the same time. We have WhatsApp Web, however, you will need your phone to log into your account on another device. Besides, it only allows one additional device and you can use it on your secondary phone or PC.

So WhatsApp is now working on a multi-device support feature which is expected to be released in beta soon.

4. WhatsApp audio message Fast forward

Now when we send or receive an audio message, we can hear it at its normal speed. Sometimes when a message is too long, it can waste our precious time while we are listening to it. Now, WhatsApp offers the ability to fast forward audio messages. With the new update, you will be able to listen to the audio messages with a speed of 1.5x or 2x.

5. Read later and vacation modes

You may have heard of WhatsApp’s archive feature, which allows us to hide our chats and we can read them later at any time. Now WhatsApp will rename this feature to “Read Later” and it will be combined with a new vacation mode.

So when you put your number in “Vacation Mode”, you will not receive any messages directly in your inbox and they will go to the “Read Later” option which you can read at any time. You will also be able to select certain contacts like family and friends who can still send you messages in your inbox.

6. Join a missed group call

According to the latest reports, WhatsApp also plans to improve its group calling feature. The company may provide a feature that will allow you to join group video or audio calls that you have missed.

For example, if someone has invited you to join a group call and you cannot join at that time, then you can join the ongoing call in between. According to WABetaInfo, the “Join Missed Call” feature will have two options: ignore and miss.

7. More control over the last view

WhatsApp is also working on a new feature that will allow you to share your last seen status with certain people. This feature is not available at this time and you will need to delete some contacts and then select “My Contacts” only or “No one” in the Last Seen settings. But the messaging platform is now working on improving the functionality of this feature to give users more control over their privacy settings. The feature has not yet arrived in the beta and is expected soon.

8. Move WhatsApp chats with Android and iOS

Facebook will soon allow you to move your chats from Android to iOS and vice versa. At the moment, there is no direct way to move your WhatsApp chats to another platform. Some third-party apps allow you to do this, but according to WhatsApp, it’s not legal.
