Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly stepped up their search for another manager by contacting ex-Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri.
Tottenham sacked Jose Mourinho on Monday, less than 18 months after appointing former Chelsea boss as Mauricio Pochettino’s replacement.
The unexpected announcement came just six days before the North London side’s EFL Cup final clash with Manchester City.
Tottenham moved quickly to put coach and former player Ryan Mason on as goalkeeper until the end of the season.
As reported by Football Italia, Tottenham are keen to have another manager in place by the summer, and Mauricio Sarri appears to be their main decision.
It is claimed that the Lilywhites did make contact with Sarri’s representative, Fali Ramadani, to inquire about his accessibility.
The 62-year-old has been unemployed since his sacking by Juventus last August, but he is still under contract with the Italian side until the end of 2021-2022.
Mauricio Sarri spent a Premier League season with Chelsea in 2018-19, winning the Europa League and qualifying for the EFL Cup final this season.
