Dutch boss urges Chelsea winger to leave Stamford Bridge

Former Ajax forward Marco van Basten has asked Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, after arriving in London early in this season.

The 28-year-old has been an irregular member of the Blues and hasn’t played a full 90 minutes for Chelsea since November 7, his only full game of the entire season so far.

The Morocco international has joined Chelsea for £ 37million from Dutch giant Ajax, and Van Basten admits Ziyech deserves his opportunity ahead of teammate Timo Werner.

Ziyech again on the bench. The moment he walks in, he’s like a striker. He can do that too, because he’s just a decent player. I’m sad to see the rotation… He’s just not in the right place. That Werner is playing really badly, but doesn’t he come much more regularly? Van Basten told reporters.

The system this trainer uses is just not good for Ziyech. At this point, as Ziyech, you have to say, “Guess what? I need to plead [to leave].

It is currently Ziyech on the grounds that I have nothing to do with this man. It doesn’t go like that. I’m not saying it’s terrible for Ziyech or terrible for this coach, but it doesn’t work that way.

The former Ajax winger signed a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge last season and scored five goals for the club.
