Gary Lineker reacts as Bayern Munich pip Tottenham Hotspur to Julian Nagelsmann

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have announced that RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann will replace Hansi Flick as head coach this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur cared a lot for the 33-year-old as president Daniel Levy wanted him to succeed Jose Mourinho.

However, Spurs will now have to look elsewhere for their next manager.

While Nagelsmann has indicated in the past that he would like to manage Tottenham, sources on the German side claim the admission was made in order to flush out other suitors.

Becoming Bayern boss has always been his dream, and it has now become a reality.

Former Spurs forward and BBC Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker took to Twitter to respond after the North Londoners missed one of their main management goals:

Spurs handed Ryan Mason responsibility for the first team until the end of the season, and while he immediately led them to Premier League victory over Southampton, he was helpless as Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City Inflicted them a 1-0 loss in the League on Sunday. Final cut.

Levy is not short of options, however, and former Chelsea and Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri has reportedly applied for the job.

Tottenham have yet to turn down the Italian, and Rangers manager Steven Gerrard and Nuno Espirito Santo of Wolverhampton Wanderers are also under consideration.

Leicester City’s Brendan Rodgers are also on Spurs’ radar, and they are reportedly ready to offer him a contract worth £ 15million a year in a bid to land him.

The former Liverpool and Celtic manager currently earns £ 5million a year at King Power Stadium, and they are set to match Tottenham’s offer and are said to be even ready to improve on it in a bid to retain his services.

In other news, Harry Redknapp wants Tottenham to name treble boss as manager.
