Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma is expected to leave the club in the summer transfer window.
According to reports from The telegraph, Brighton is “prepared” for Bissouma’s departure after three years at Amex stadium.
He has been followed by clubs in the Champions League, while Liverpool are widely seen as a potential destination for the Malian midfielder.
The report makes it clear that he is expected to move to another club this summer, but as of yet nothing has been agreed upon.
He joined Brighton from Lille in 2018 for £ 15million. They are likely to make a big profit on him, with The Athletic reporting that the Seagulls value their star player at over £ 40million.
Brighton is quite relaxed about his situation and they are under no pressure to sell him. However, an ‘absolutely incredible offer’ could prompt them to part ways with the midfielder.
Bissouma could be a superb replacement for Gini Wijnaldum who is preparing to leave the Reds when his contract expires.
He has yet to sign a new contract with Liverpool and it looks like a possible free transfer to Barcelona is on the horizon.
Liverpool have internal substitutes in the form of Curtis Jones and Jake Cain, but Jurgen Klopp is likely to add a quality player to replace him.
In other news, Liverpool announced a pre-tax loss of £ 46million amid the covid crisis.
