Liverpool won’t sell Firmino but new striker needed and Bobby will have to turn, says James Pearce

The decline of Roberto Firmino is unfortunately a reality.

He still has wonderful feet and his football brain is still there, but his inability to hit a clean football simply negates his effectiveness as a main center forward.

When was the last time you saw him kick hard? It’s weird. That term, his expected goals put him on 13, but in reality he’s only six – which shows how problematic his finish is.

James Pearce has said in a podcast that he doesn’t think Bobby will be sold, but that a new striker is essential for the transfer window – and we wholeheartedly agree with him.

“I would be amazed if he was out of place, because Klopp absolutely adores him… We’ve been so used to Firmino being one of the first names on the roster, and I just don’t see that in there. ‘future…’ he told the Red Agenda.

“You need a goalscorer, a poacher – surely now is the time to draw a line under Divock Origi’s career at Liverpool.

“You make it evolve and you improve in this department. Mo Salah has carried the burden for much of the season, and he needs more help.

Erling Haaland would be fine – in fact – we would probably still be in the title race if the Norwegian had been close to completing the chances we created in 2021 – but his transfer fees and salaries will be unrealistic given our last post. accounts…

Instead, we’ll probably have to bring in a Patson Daka guy and hope he follows in the same footsteps as Sadio Mane and Salah when they arrive.
