A report has revealed that current Juventus coach Max Allegri has rejected offers to coach England sides Chelsea and Man Utd before returning to Turin a few weeks ago.
According to Allegri’s mentor Giovanni Galone, he revealed that the Old Ladies manager turned down Chelsea twice within a fortnight. He added that he had also rejected Man Utd’s management offers.
Allegri however returned to Juve where he was sacked by the Italian giants in May 2019.
“Last year, while at Juventus, Allegri said no to five big offers. Chelsea tried twice in a fortnight and he always rejected every offer,” Galeone told Il Bianconero.
Galeone pointed out that Allegri would have moved to Real Madrid had it not been for an offer from the Old Ladies.
“Then Real Madrid contacted him more than once, while Arsenal, PSG and Manchester United also tried. All in the space of a year, but he always said no.
“I think if Juve hadn’t called he would be in Madrid now, although he wasn’t fully convinced with the organization there. Nobody really is, ”Galeone added.
While Allegri did not agree to move to Chelsea, the Blues now have Thomas Tuchel who led them to victory in UCL recently.
