Ahead of the summer transfer window, Newcastle United have reportedly been linked with moves for Arsenal youngster William Saliba.
Reports have revealed that the Magpies plan to submit a loan for Saliba this summer.
It comes as the former Saint-Etienne star is yet to make his senior Gunners squad debut as he has been limited to U23 appearances.
He was however sent to Nice on a temporary contract over the winter.
In Nice, the young Gunners quickly established himself as a full-fledged player for the French club making 20 appearances in Ligue 1.
Reports from the Emirate Stadium have revealed that his performance in Nice has prompted coach Mikel Arteta to change his plans for him and is considering incorporating it into his plans for the new season.
However, the Daily Mail have claimed that Newcastle are hoping to take Saliba on loan as they were impressed by fellow Arsenal compatriot Joe Willock, who played a starring role during his stint with the Magpies last season.
The Magpies are betting that Saliba would not have opportunities to play regularly for the senior squad and hope to convince Arsenal to let him join them instead.
Newcastle are also considering signing Willock for good.
