Ute’s future gymnasts Grace McCallum and Kara Eaker finished seventh and 10th respectively.
Simone Biles was untouchable at the U.S. championships as she won her seventh U.S. all-around championship on Sunday, but local Utah relations were also proud.
Biles won the competition with 119.65 points, 4.7 points ahead of second-placed Suni Lee.
The Utah gymnastics team was well represented with MyKayla Skinner finishing ninth and future Utah gymnasts Grace McCallum and Kara Eaker finishing seventh and 10th respectively.
Skinner left the Utah program a year earlier to try to make the Olympic team. This team will be decided following the US Olympic gymnastics trials scheduled for June 24-27 in St. Louis.
The first two in this event automatically qualify for the Olympic team while the other two competitors are selected by a committee.
Everyone’s chasing Biles, who hasn’t lost an all-around for eight years. She had the highest score in vault, beam and floor at the US Championships.
Skinner was second on the vault behind Biles, scoring 29.9 to Biles’ 31.35.
McCallum was third on beam and Eaker fifth.
