Ahead of the summer transfer window, Man Utd received the asking price for AS Atalanta’s Cristian Romero.
The report revealed that the Seria A club would only consider a move to Romero if the interested club are willing to fork out £ 52million as a transfer price.
The Red Devils are reportedly hoping to persuade the Serie A club to cash the center-back for an offer of around £ 39million.
Romero played on loan with Atalanta in the last campaign and they have the option to buy the Argentina international for £ 21.5million.
According to Tuttosport, Atalanta intends to trigger this right-to-buy clause and keep Romero at the Gewiss Stadium unless a major bid is made.
It is assumed that Man United have yet made a first approach for the 23-year-old, who won his first senior international selection in last week’s 1-1 draw against Chile.
We’ll have to wait until the summer transfer market starts to see if the Red Devils will submit a bid for him.
Man Utd already have Harry Maguire on the back, but if they manage to sign Romero he will move to Old Trafford to play second violin.
