Former Chelsea and Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte recently revealed why he turned down the offer to become Tottenham, the next manager.
Recall that a few weeks ago, Conte was approached to become the coach of Hotspur before the new season.
However, halfway through contract talks, reports revealed that the Italian club and the English club were unable to come to an agreement.
Well, Conte in a recent statement revealed why he turned down the offer as he said he was not convinced with the project that was sold to him by the club’s board of directors.
Speaking about his reasons for rejecting a move to Tottenham, Conte was quoted by Metro UK as saying: “Money is not my obsession.
“I look at the projects and I’m ready to stay home if they don’t convince me.
“I like tough challenges, but if there’s something about a club that doesn’t convince me, I’d rather say no, thank you.
Conte had been tipped to replace Jose Mourinho who was sacked at Tottenham but has now secured a new position in the Italian Seria A with AS Roma.
Having left Inter Milan last season despite leading them to victory in Seria A, it’s unclear whether he is considering a return to San Siro.
